History
Gordon Styles, founder of Star Prototype, began his career in the rapid prototyping industry by building up STYLES RPD to be the largest rapid prototyping company in the UK, with sales of USD 6.5 million. In 2000, STYLES RPD was sold to ARRK. During the following five-year period, Gordon researched the Asian rapid prototyping industry extensively, and found that few companies could provide prototypes that lived up to Western standards.

On August 1, 2005, Star Prototype China Limited was incorporated. By August 2009, Star Prototype moved from its representative office in Yihua, Zhongshan to a 24,000-square-foot factory near Zhongshan Port. In the following years, Star Prototype grew quickly, employing quality associates from around the globe and expanding its factory capabilities. In 2012, Star Prototype expanded its facilities again, adding a 12,000-square-foot office building and a 4,500-square-foot Additive Manufacturing Centre.

Today, Star Prototype employs over 130 people and continues to expand at a rate of 50% per year.
