FARO Laser Scanning Arm

At STAR we mainly use our FARO Laser Scanning arm for first article inspection of injection moulded parts and pressure die cast parts. We create a point cloud from the part and compare that with the original CAD data producing a colour coded deviation map.

We can also use our FARO for checking complex stereolithography and SLS master models in the rapid prototyping and vacuum casting process.

The FARO arm is mobile and can therefore also be sited temporarily next to a CNC machine and check the geometry of a cavity during CNC milling.
